Surviving to Thriving is a 3-module course designed for anyone providing social services, education, youth programs, faith leaders who may or may not have a background in trauma-informed care and social-emotional learning. Completing all sessions equips participants to understand what mental health is, how trauma affects mental wellness and brain development, and how to implement specific trauma-informed care tools and techniques to promote social-emotional development.
Organizations also have the option of working with a consultant to tailor existing modules to their unique goals, or to request additional custom professional development sessions.

Overview:
Module 1 (half-day):
Defining Childhood Trauma In this session, participants will describe typical child development, define and recognize the signs of trauma, and evaluate the influence of adversity. |
Module 2 (half-day):
Adult Resilience in Caring for Youth Participants will recognize the signs and symptoms of childhood trauma, identify their own strengths and resources to aid them in responding effectively, and build a game plan for resiliency |
Module 3 (half-day):
Fostering Social-Emotional Learning Participants will learn and practice specific tools and strategies for addressing challenging behaviors, and create an action plan to use in their classrooms or programs. |
